Salmon to orange-brown heartwood, darkening with exposure. Interlocked grain, medium to coarse texture.

Density

High — approximately 900–1,000 kg/m³ (air-dry)

Durability

Very durable. Excellent resistance to decay and insects.

Machining

Difficult. Requires sharp tooling. Finishes well.

Common Applications

Heavy construction, flooring, furniture, tool handles, marine applications.
